Columbia Pacific CCO substance use disorder work

Jan 1, 2021, 08:00 AM
Columbia Pacific CCO continues to make strong progress toward meeting the substance use disorder goals for our region, despite pandemic restrictions. We have seen a large increase in DATA-waivered prescribers due to the excellent efforts of Adventist and Tillamook County and their Rural Community Opioid Response Program (RCORP). We’ve partnered with Columbia County in an SUD taskforce, seeking to expand housing options, develop local harm reduction services and create peer recovery specialist-led overdose response programming.

We’ve seen you all working to develop partnerships in how you deliver SUD services in the region, including a unique sharing agreement between OHSU Scappoose and CBH that significantly expands treatment access. We’ve scored high in the quality metric that measures how quickly we get patients into treatment and how long we keep them engaged. Many of you have participated in our monthly MAT learning collaborative and our SUD clinical directors’ meeting, which aim to improve the quality and integration of the care we deliver. On behalf of Columbia Pacific, thank you for showing up and delivering high-quality care during this challenging time.

In 2021, we’ll continue our MAT expansion with a focus on emergency departments and jails. We hope to develop a toolkit and additional programming for methamphetamine use disorder and identify sites offering benzodiazepine medical withdrawal for patients. We also hope to continue supporting the expansion of desperately needed harm reduction services in the three counties we serve. Finally, we believe that dual-diagnosis services should be the standard of care in all behavioral health treatment and look forward to providing our partners with training and resources to support this work.

Thank you for a successful year. We look forward to continuing this progress in 2021.
