New Procedure Codes for Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Providers

Effective February 1, 2022, the following procedure code changes will go into effect for substance use disorder (SUD) providers.
The 2/1/2022 changes include eight new procedure codes that are eligible in SUD OP, IOP and MAT levels of care. These are:

Code Description
G9012
Substance use care coordination: services provided to transition an individual from higher levels of care (inpatient or residential) to lower levels of care.
H0022
Alcohol and/or drug intervention service (planned facilitation)
H0023
Behavioral health outreach service (planned approach to reach a targeted population)
